Playcare Success Story: Katrina and Joey

joey and katrina

Our son Joey received a beautiful service dog named Katrina from Veteran’s Moving Forward, Inc. based in Virginia. Katrina was trained by VMF for a year and a half before matching her with Joey and his disability (traumatic brain injury, TBI). Since VMF was located in Virginia, they needed someone in the Saratoga County, NY area to do follow up training with Katrina and Joey. After an extensive search, they selected Jody Cracco of Doggy Playcare to work with Katrina & Joey.

Jody’s credentials were exceptional although she had never worked with an individual with a traumatic brain injury. Training a service dog for an individual with TBI requires a special person with different skill sets.

As Joey’s parent’s, we are happy to report that Jody, Katrina and Joey have become best friends and most importantly a working team. Katrina has bonded strongly with Joey to serve his many needs and understands Jody’s role as an instructor. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Joey and Jody communicate and meet regularly. She is available and willing to help Joey whenever there is an issue. Jody Cracco is a consummate professional with a sincere concern and interest with the dog and the client! We highly recommend her in any endeavor regarding dog obedience and training.
